The Traditional Worship Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church. The purpose of our monthly meetings is to plan the Sunday worship services for the month. We discuss each Sunday’s worship service sermon theme, the accompanying music, coordination of the sanctuary decorations with the worship service sermon topic, and any other special needs or arrangements required to support each Sunday’s worship service. The Worship Committee also addresses special events, such as the Hanging of the Greens each year. The Traditional Worship Committee is independent of the Praise and Rejoice Worship Team because of the differences in the two services.

The second responsibility of the Traditional Worship Committee is to identify and plan future worship needs for the Trinity congregation (members, radio audience, and newcomers). We look ahead for the next year and to perform preliminary worship planning for the upcoming year and we are always interested in the needs and desires of the Trinity congregation for Worship needs. Rev. Sene also looks a year in advance and establishes a Sunday-by-Sunday list of proposed worship topics.

As a congregation, are there any special areas of worship that need to be addressed?? Do you as a member of the Trinity congregation have a desire to hear a sermon on a particular topic or series of topics? It is hard to guess the needs of the entire congregation without some feedback or input. Therefore, you are invited to provide your ideas or suggestions for future worship service sermons to one of the Worship Committee members or feel free to attend one of your monthly committee meetings and provide your input.

Praise and Rejoice Team:

The Praise & Rejoice service is a non-traditional, informal worship service held each Sunday at 9:00 in Mary Dawson Hall. Coffee and goodies are available throughout the service, contributing to the informal setting.

Each week, music is led by the Praise & Rejoice band. Whether you like to raise your hands in Praise, clap with the music, sing along with the band, or simply listen to the music, you will enjoy favorite praise songs like “The River Is Here” and “Lord I Lift Your Name on High.”

There are many opportunities to participate in the service: join the rotation of volunteers who create and operate the powerpoint presentation, greet people as they arrive for the service, or run the soundboard for the band. Your contributions and talents are always welcome!
